besides linux mint is just a more user friendly version of ubuntu so if it works in mint it will DEFINITELY work in ubuntu.

Fedora is also good, but a general user will do good with Ubuntu..

I am an ubuntu user, i just needed one with those specs i posted in the first post. I am gonna try moblin first but yes i most likely will go with it.
