That bit I can't help, It depends on what your screen size is, I don't know how to make it automatically adjust to the screen.

It looks normal now, still not a fan of that banner or theme.

To make the container a fixed width (that thing where all the content is) you have to edit the themes global.css file. Find the container css id, and instead of say, 85%, change it to 800px, or whatever you want.

Ok, new theme is up and running.

It's not completely finished, but most of the design is.
