I had this error. Eventually I used downcheck, noticed the site wasn't down, tried it on IE, and it worked.
Still wasn't working on chrome so I had to delete my browsing history and it was working fine again.

I read on a forum (Not aloud to talk about) that HackForums server was rooted.
I didn't believe it at all because I was on HF at the time of reading it. But SF was down for me until around 3, I think something could have went wrong.
I don't know why someone would try and root the server, some people just hate us I guess.
