I agree with everyone that stated above, unix systems are really the best, though you might find it very strange at start, it will be really great in a long-term use.
I kinda dislike Mac Os, due to the fact you will end up being a "Mac Slave". Buy special cables, buy special programs, lots of unsupported stuff...
