I would get the Zune HD, or if a consumer version is released soon, the Creative Zii Egg. I have a touch, and it was great at first because i wanted it for the wifi, but it isn't all that great to me anymore.

I would suggest a apple product, if your just looking for basic music, get a shuffle so cheap, or somthing more advanced get a ipod-touch or even a iphone

I would agree here on Solidus' and Fragma's point of view. iStuff is popular, but people are unaware of how advanced our technology capabilities are in today's world. Marketing puts us in a less advanced society because if everything was built to last, who would buy new Cars? Computers? Cellphones? Stereos?
They don't build things to last, and same thing with apple's products. You need a company that isn't greedy for money, and concerned more about customer satisfaction to get anything good out there. Sometimes more often than not, that doesn't come without a price.
