RE: MyBB Stop Support Based On Content - Navineous - 10-06-2010 Thanks for the info omni, hopefully not many people will have problems with this new policy. It sucks, but that's how it works. RE: MyBB Stop Support Based On Content - Brandon - 10-06-2010 (10-06-2010, 01:03 PM)Swat Runs Train Wrote: So how does this effect you Omni? Or you pretty much know myBB like the back of your hand? Actually on the page it suggests his myBB site as an alternative method for support, lol. RE: MyBB Stop Support Based On Content - DAMINK™ - 10-07-2010 Yet another reason i am glad to move away from MyBB. Hell i think i break most of the rules lmfao. MY first thought was this... Most people with an active forum that has any real content will probably breach these rules. Not all certainly. But a large majority of forums with lets say 10k posts or more will likely be in breach. So this support is largely offered to new forums. New forum owners. And likely mostly young kids! Why? Simple. Its free and easy to use. Its not the best, Just free. Mybb claims they want to move away from the "kids use mybb" stigma. Yet rules like this are enforced. Dunno man. I cant see any positives out of this. And based on what i read on other BB forums (non mybb) there is a growing dislike towards MyBB. Now all that said. In Defense now. Most BB providers carry certain Terms And Conditions. Sure not as harsh as this but they do none the less. Just because the idea isn't illegal doesn't mean illegal content isn't posted there on a regular basis. RE: MyBB Stop Support Based On Content - Rapture™ - 11-02-2010 Yeah, I'm glad I am out of the stage of needing MyBB Support. Because when it was first happening of Staff Members not helping out Users because of the content I was the first to get denied. I was so mad I even started to hit MyBB for awhile tell I cooled off. Then I got banned =) ( 2 Days, I was like haha!). I support it for people like me who have learned a thing or two about MyBB, but then also disagree because for new people trying to start a site like HF will get mad. Then again if they don't know what they are doing already why even start it up in the first place. RE: MyBB Stop Support Based On Content - Marik™ - 11-06-2010 Oh god, and I wanted to open a new forum about hacking and a private one. I'll just simply switch to VBulletin or ask Omni for help. |
