The bottom looks the best, but you didn't do a whole lot to the template itself you downloaded
you just left that black. 6/10The text on the left seems too close to where the module for the video preview will be. I think you should move it out a bit, and add more at the top too. There's more going on at the bottom and it looks a lot better at the bottom than it does at the top. The glow takes up most of the effect there.
With youtube, you don't even need that in the image you know. The modules will give you the option of making your own boxes like that instead, where you can change the transparency too. But if you change the transparency and there is still that black part of the image behind the boxes, that feature becomes useless.

I'm a little lazy at the moment for creating a new one. I have too much coding on my hands currently.
