Staff will never ask you for personal information.
Remember that images & other information creates links. For example sharing a photo of your dog that is also posted to your Facebook with your real name and city could reveal your identity. The same is true if you use the same username, profile picture etc between sites.
Certain forums will allow you to post anonymously - consider using this feature when discussing any private or personal that you want to remain completely private.
Secure your forum account by enabling multi-factor authentication.
You can request to see what personal identifiable information the site has for you at any time. Staff are happy to remove your content or account if you require.
Important disclosure
Staff cannot view member PII such email addresses, billing/store information, IP address details or anonymous post authors. Community Managers, who administer the site and it's underlying infrastructure have restricted access to such information as is required to perform their duties.
