Just a thought for anyone out there who needs a little extra comfort in their journey. Wearing some kind of LGBTQ+ affiliated symbol or piece of clothing can be a small, personal act of self-affirmation or even just a wink to others in the same community.
This doesn’t mean you need to drape yourself in a rainbow flag (unless you want to, in which case, rock it!) You might wear a small pin on your bag, or put a sticker on your laptop, or even wear something under your clothes that speaks to your identity.
Just this small gesture can be like a secret signal, letting others with a sharp eye know you’re part of the community. It’s also a small, private way to affirm your identity on a daily basis.
Remember, it’s not about showing off or any form of pressure, but it might just bring a little more positivity into your day or remind yourself to stay proud, even on rougher days.
