Potholes are the worst, honestly

Okay, I’ve gotta get this off my chest. Potholes. They’re absolutely everywhere and it’s infuriating. I mean, our council tax is through the roof and all… but still I feel like I’m on some obstacle course every time I take the car out.

Hit one last week, BAM, that’s a new tyre down the drain. Even when I’m super careful, it’s like playing whack-a-mole with these bad boys, they pop up all over the place. And don’t even get me started about at night when it’s basically a case of Russian roulette as I navigate the streets.

Plus, it’s not like our city is humongous or anything. I know there’s a pandemic going on, but come on, is it too much to ask to get some semblance of a smooth road? I swear if there’s one more ‘maintenance work in progress’ sign which literally translates to ‘watch out, pothole minefield ahead’ and I see no actual work happening, I might lose it.

And cyclists, my thoughts go out to you. Honestly, potholes from hell and bikes are just an accident waiting to happen.

Might start a petition to the local council about it, actually. Has anyone done this before? Is it a waste of time or can we make a difference if enough people chip in? I’d be eager to kick something off if others are 🤔

Man, I feel your pain. Had to change a busted tyre myself last week due to one of these pesky potholes. It’s a nightmare! But hey, starting a petition sounds like a solid idea. Haven’t personally done it before, but if you get enough support from the locals, I bet it could make a difference. And, worst case scenario if they don’t listen, gets the conversation going, right? Absolutely, making a legit fuss about it might just be what we need to wake the right people up. Potholes are about more than flat tyres, man. They’re a safety hazard too. Initiating a petition is a fab idea, but also consider contacting your local council directly. They need to hear our individual stories. I’m with you on this, potholes are such a menace! The idea of a petition is brilliant, count me in! And the local meet-up sounds like it’ll be effective. Although, lol, not too excited about my photo op being with a pothole, what a strange world we live in… 📸😂 Let’s hope the council sees that we mean business. Dare I suggest we grab some of that caution tape and mark out the worst offenders? Might help avoid some accidents while we wait for action!
