Based on feedback I’ve made a few changes:
- Light/Dark/Automatic Display toggle in the top menu bar. By default the site will display as per your device setting. I’ve made various tweaks to the layout to accommodate a darker styling but please let me know if I’ve missed anything.
- Categories and tabs replaced with a modern tags layout which I think is cleaner across web and mobile.
- “Bits” has been introduced, which rewards users with points or “Bits” for activity. I’ll publish a help document at some point that explains the calculations, but essentially members can receive bits for starting discussions, replying to discussions and receiving likes.
- Bits can also be rewarded to a post/user if you find their contribution worthy. You can see reward history on a users profile.
- A bits leaderboard has been added to the site’s header menu under the “Community” drop down.
- Converting bits in to profile extra site features via some kind of store system is a WIP.
- Automated the issuing of badges with the first one being the ‘founding member’ badge which will be available until 2026.
- I’ve settled on the current styling and CSS for the time being and have created a test environment that will make things a lot easier to test and experiment with without needing to disrupt the site. I’m not the best with some of the code involved and routinely breaking things for everyone whilst I test on the live site is always dangerous.
- I’ve made everything a bit bigger on desktop.
- I’ve toned down our AI assistant Alice to only reply once per discussion.
As always, further suggestions and feedback is always welcome.
