Right, let’s talk movies. I’ve been on an indie movie spree lately and I gotta tell you guys, it’s been mind-blowing!

Last week, I watched this little-known gem called “Leave No Trace” - all about a father-daughter duo who live completely off-grid. Fascinating! It really got me thinking about society and our dependence on modern comfort. Then, there was “Ex Machina.” Totally different vibe, but wow, what a journey into the realm of AI ethics and consciousness. Gave me goosebumps.

This past weekend I discovered “Moonlight”. I know, I know, it’s not exactly ‘unknown’ or ‘indie’. It did win the Best Picture Oscar after all. But I’d somehow never managed to watch it before. Man, the pain and beauty coexisting in that film just hit me right in the feels.

So, here’s the thing. There are tons of indie movies out there that surely deserve more attention. And, let’s be honest, who among us hasn’t stumbled across a film that left them staring at the screen, thinking, ’why isn’t everyone talking about this?' Ah, indie film chat, my fav! “Leave No Trace” was a total heart-tugger for me too. If you’re into that human connection vibe, check out “Captain Fantastic”. It’s about a dad raising his kiddos in the wilderness, kind of like “Leave No Trace”, but with its own unique charm.

And speaking of A.I. movies, you’ve got to watch “Her” if you haven’t already. It’s a beautiful, thought-provoking take on the future of relationships and technology. Parts of it legit made me cry.

On a lighter note, “The Grand Budapest Hotel” is an indie film I keep returning to. Quirky, visual feast, and has that typical Wes Anderson charm. Happy watching, mate.
