Loved my dog for many wonderful years and after she passed away, I’ve been thinking of getting a new pet, but want to try something different this time. Just because I like to keep things interesting. Anyone here keep any unconventional or exotic pets? Is it a lot of work?
I’ve been particularly interested in the idea of owning a ferret, read about them a bit and they seem like fun pets, full of energy and mischief. But then there’s also the reptile route - iguanas, snakes or turtles. I won’t lie, there’s something so cool about the idea of having a pet snake or iguana, but I also heard they require very specific care which might be a bit challenging.
Then there’s bird-keeping. Something about having a brightly feathered friend seems appealing. My neighbor has a few budgies and they are just adorable to watch. But I have never owned a bird before and I am not quite sure about their needs and habits.
And finally, there’s the small animals like hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits. They’re cute and cuddly, probably less daunting than a snake and less mischievous than a ferret, but will they be content with living in a cage?
I guess I am rambling here, but you get the picture. There’s quite a few intriguing options and it’s a bit of a maze to navigate. So who here has any of those 🤔
