Have you ever felt like youāre running on fumes, emotionally speaking? Youāre not alone. Weāve all had those days when lifeās challenges seem to hit us with more intensity than just about anything else. Itās important to remember though, that seeking emotional support isnāt a sign of weakness, but a part of maintaining our overall wellbeing.
For some of us, reaching out might feel like the hardest thing in the world, isnāt it? I remember this period in my 20s when everything just felt like it was falling apart. I was alone in a new city, the job I relocated for was not at all what I dreamt of and to top it all off, my relationship was on the rocks. The thought of asking for help felt like admitting failure, something I wasnāt ready to do.
But hereās the thing - sometimes, reaching out can make all the difference. Thereās no shame in asking for a shoulder to lean on or a listening ear when youāre in need. Not at all. In fact, reaching out when you are feeling overwhelmed shows a lot of strength. Itās okay to ask for help and itās okay to express your feelings, just remember that your feelings are valid, they matter.
Where does that strength come from? Itās a good question, and my answer might surprise you. Sometimes, that strength comes from friends or family. But just as often, it comes from therapists or online communities š¤
