After years of waffling, I’ve finally taken the plunge and ordered a brand new shiny Oculus Quest 2. I mean, who remembers when VR first got hyped up? And don’t get me started on the price of them back then! Like, seriously - a few hundred for a start, plus a whacking great expensive computer too? It was next to impossible for many of us, including me, to afford it. But thankfully, it seems like things have changed a lot in this tech bubble.
So, while I’m anxiously tapping my fingers waiting for the delivery man, I thought I’d reach out to all you experts out there and find out some stuff - what are the must-try experiences waiting for me in the world of VR? I appreciate anything from gaming, movies, or even fitness tips (I heard you can get quite a sweat going, which might be a saving grace in these covid times when the gyms are hot zones).
Also, I’ve heard a fair bit about motion sickness associated with VR. Being someone who can barely watch shaky handheld footage without feeling queasy, I’m a little concerned. Anyone out there got any tips for a poor, motion sick prone guy like me? What I should expect, or better, how to make it a less Pierre-Montgolfier-barf-bag-award-winning experience?
Just a quick aside - any other VR owners already 🤔
