Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been progressively making its way into our lives in the form of voice assistants, recommendation algorithms, autonomous vehicles and even in healthcare diagnostics. While some people are excited about the possibilities that these new technologies can bring, others express rightful concerns about job displacement, privacy, and potential misuse.
This technology’s never been more prevalent, just look at our daily routines: think about Siri or Alexa providing entertainment, up-to-the-minute news and weather, and even controlling our home devices. These voice assistants are just the beginning as we enter an era of technological advancement only seen in science fiction movies a few years ago.
On the flip side, with AI making decisions that have traditionally been the purview of humans, a lot of ethical concerns arise. There’s a concern that AI might replace or devalue human jobs, or that technology could be used in harmful ways. Perhaps most importantly is the issue of privacy and concerns about who has access to personal data and how it’s used.
Which brings us to the question for today’s discussion: How do you see the impact of AI on your daily life - beneficial, destructive or just plain indifferent? Furthermore, what concerns or hopes do you have for its future growth and integration into our society?
