After Firefox upgraded itself from 2.0.0.2 to 2.0.0.3, when I attempt to log on after about 15 seconds I get that âââ¬Ã
âA script in this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding, etc.âââ¬Ã message and from there on logging onto Firefox then is a royal pain. Once on, all of my add-ons work perfectly (well, I canâââ‰â¢t say this for Talkback since I donâââ‰â¢t really know), and everything else works fine, also.
My add-ons are as follows: Roboform Toolbar, GreaseMonkey, Internet Download Manager, IE Tab, Keyscrambler, NoScript,Print/Print Preview, Talkback, and Yahoo! Mail Notifier. I disabled all of them to no avail. I tried increasing the script time (dom.max_script_run_time) and that didnâââ‰â¢t help, either. I had backed up my 2.0.0.2 Profiles folder (from Documents and Settings) but when I wrote over the 2.0.0.3 Profiles folder I got an error message that involved chrome so I had to restore my drive from a drive image made just before Firefox was upgraded. Firefox, again without my permission, then upgraded itself from 2.0.0.2 to 2.0.0.3 once again giving me that script busy message.
FYI: I am using Zone Alarm, SpySweeper, and Avast! anti-virus. All are kept up-to-date and I never had any problem with any of these programs (or any other of my application programs) prior to installing 2.0.0.3. I may start looking for my old Netscape 8.2 (or, Heaven forgive me, IE) and ditch Firefox altogether unless someone on this forum can help!
