ClearForest Gnosis uses advanced natural language processing techniques and ClearForests’s Semantic Web Service (SWS) to
extract meaning from the content of any web page.
With a single click, Gnosis will identify the people, companies, organizations, geographies and products on the page you are viewing. Using the built-in navigation sidebar you can gain immediate understanding of the page’s contents.
Installation and Use:
1. Install the extension and restart Firefox
2. Right click on your icon toolbar and add the ClearForest Gnosis button (if you want)
3. Navigate to any page whose content you’d like to analyze. A news page is a good place to start
4. Open the Gnosis sidebar with View > Sidebar > Gnosis
5. You can process the page in one of two ways:
a) Click the Gnosis button to process the entire page, or
b) Select specific text and click the button or right click to “ClearForest Gnosis”
6. Gnosis goes away and finds all the people, companies, organizations and other items in your page
7. When processing is done (1-2 seconds) you can expand the entities located in the Gnosis sidebar
8. Right click on an entity to launch a variety of searches - including Google Finance for companies
Use Gnosis on the news, business documents, or blogs to get an immediate birds-eye view of content hidden within unstructured text.
