Theres more than one interface for linux
for the modern computers theres gnome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNOME) or the KDE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE)
for the lighter machines theres fluxbox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluxbox) and fxce (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xfce)
for the user who likes allot of eye candy theres enlightenment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enlightenme...manager%29)
and for the control freeks, theres the command line http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command_line
Theres proably alot more, but i either havent heard of them or cant remember what there called right now :tux:

I finally got Ubuntu, and I'm now got it installed, along with Firefox 2.0 and now running my system off Linux.
It's a nice change, for the better

I've used it afair bit, but at home and at work I tend to use Windows. In fact, I'm using the Windows Vista Ultimate retail version at the mo.

Vista? Yuk, it has bloatware written all over it.
Ubuntu? Too much Sudo.
FC4, FC5 and FC6 all don't work on my PC (Fedora refuses to boot on a secondary HDD), and the 4k kernel module usage cap causes absolute chaos with ndiswrapper, and because of where I am compared to my router, I need to use my Wi-Fi card.
Live CDs suck. They seem nice and amazing, but you need loads of RAM, or they freeze and moan every time the K Menu is opened.
I prefer SUSE. It has most of the packages you'll ever need, some you don't has a sleek UI and has the fast and simple yet powerful system management tool YaST2. Sweet!
Been flying the Tux flag for just under 2 years now.
