Great tutorial. Very informative. I'm currently reading your "Links to Some Hosting topic that are Useful" are am motivated to read more of the listed tutorials by the well written manner in which this was written.
Thanks maestro, you're probably gone but I have been away from the forum for a while. I used to run a webhosting company so anyone that has any questions about that or hosting in general I'll be here to help out, I'm done with all the crazy shenanigans I had to do with work.

last year, i bought a crappy hosting and i was getting trouble with MySQL

And it was expensive Sad
If i wanted to host friends on a server, as well as my own site should i opt for a VPS? Can i "split" the VPS? Having say webhosting on it as well as tunneling traffic?
This is a really helpful tut made me think about the correct things when deciding my hosting.
