I think you might like Battlefield Bad Company 2 I know that I loved it, was really good you should give it a try..

The best in my opinion - Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 4 , both are awesome

Halo 3, Counter Strike: Source, Call of Duty: Mw2, Call of Duty 4, etc. That's really all I can think of at the moment. I'd say any FPS is the way to go though, definitely.

Oh and a great single player game would be Fallout 3 or Dragon age origins
