You must have a bad Hard drive.
No I just replaced the hard drive it didn't change anything
Would a fried motherboard cause this weirdness?
It may be caused by damaged MBR.
If you have your Windows CD, you can fix it.
Just get into the recovery console (if you use Windows XP, boot from CD, let the setup load and when it will say "press Enter to install, press R to repair", press R and you are there).
Then type in "MBRFIX" and "CHKDSK" (without the quotes).
I cannot get the computer to stay powered up for longer that 1-2 seconds; not enough for it to boot from DVD or anything.... Tried replacing the PSU with a Thermaltake 500w with 25amps on 12V+... Any ideas?
I think you need to call some hardware doctor ....to heal the cpu.....
well it was the motherboard after all... thanks for all the help... and guesses
I think some of the hardware went bad. Bring it to a computer store! Thats your best chance.
I think motherboard fudged up.
