That's assuming that you will still be alive after 2012.

Except for the fact that the current owner gets first refusal to renew the domain before it gets released back to the public. And even if they're not renewed, they are usually taken by a domain holding company for a ridiculous fee.

You wont get that they will always renew it. And even if you somehow got it they would just sue you and get it back .

Well they couldn't sue you if they no longer owned it and you bought it legitimately.

They would pay allot to get it back of you

Of course, all domains expire sooner or later.

The domain will expire. But they will probably renew it.
And they will probably buy it off of you for quite a bit if you get it.

I'm sure they'll renew it regularly. Every domain expires. ICANN only allows up to 10 years preregistration.

Oh darn, that stinks.

I wish you luck on your journey to retrieve the domain. I would like it if you gave me 25% if you do get it and sell it
