Ok so My dvd+r when I put a cd or dvd (their both writeable) into my d drive, it gives me an error message saying that its not formatted correctly, and that the cds cant be read, but their fresh cds, and ive written with it before, and my drivers are up to date, whats wrong with it? 8(
What brand and model number is the drive. Also check with the mfgr's website to see if there is any firmware or software update for it. Secondally try a different brand of Dvd+r or cdr to see if its only an isolated issue as it has been known that some brands of burners don't like certain disks.
Install nero
You can use it to burn file to cd
I had the same problem and i'm now using NERO
I had this problem a while ago and I fixed it by switching CDs.

I was using ASDA CDs and DVDs, but when I tried a TESCO CD it worked perfectly.

Switch CDs and see if that helps Oui
I actually found out the issue. It seems with hp pavillions if you have smoethign waiting to be burnt to a cd, and you dont burn it, it keeps it in paged files, and wont let you reformat another cd until you delete the files to be burned. Once you delete them everything goes back to normal.
You might be putting in the wrong type of disc.
Your DVD drive might be old.
You didn't install drivers.

Check up on those three things.
The discs may not be compatible, try a different disc brand.

Curious if you can explain how to delete the temp file. Might be helpful to others.
Some DVD drive port maybe corrupted or disk might not be compatible....
