the disk space on my laptop isnt too great, but no matter how many things i delete, it doesnt come close to free'ing up any space, i know vista itself takes up about 20 gig, but has anyone got any tips on freeing up disk space? thanks

PC tools disk suite. I would reccomend that.
CCleaner, disk clean up, uninstall junk software, OR buy external hdd if any of our tips arent helpful

Well, you could just buy a cheaper internal one....
scan for possible malware and use CCleaner
You could also do a complete Reinstall of Windows Itself. It will free up space and probably give you a speed boost too.
Just remember to backup all your personal files beforehand.
Disable System Restore/Hibernation and shadow files. You will regain at least 20%/30% more space back.
I do this myself, but do a manual back-ups weekly on a External drive.
