I do when I don't care about the game but if its important its always nice to here what is going down on the game.

If you have the money go for Astro A40's.
I bought my friend a pair and they sound beautiful, he is now able to soundwhore like a pro.

Be careful not to turn them up too high. They get pretty loud and he always has them up high; I fear for his hearing.

Hmm I have bad hearing at the moment so I don't have too much to lose

I still remember when i was playing gta 4 vice city,i always
uses to listen music it was amazing experience.I never forget these moments.
If my game requires me to use sound in order to find out the enemies position, or to simply listen to what the game is saying, then no I won't.
But if I'm playing a game where you gotta get pumped to do well, then most definitely. It usually consists of fast rap, dubstep, etc.
Somtimes it helps me PWN sometimes i loose due to it.
