Cummin turbo diesel baby!
Get a 3rd Gen Dodge Cummins (2003-2007)
Seriously you shouldn't buy a truck just because you think its safer.. Spend less money to buy a nice small car that will get you from A to B.. Just drive carefully... No offense but it sounds to me like the only reason you want a truck is because you're paranoid that you'll crash.. Which isn't very good thinking.

But, is it worth it? A car is better on gas, and trucks are insanely bad on it.

this also if you ever do want a truck!
Look into a Toyota Tacoma X-Runner. They're very nice looking and get good MPG.
I'll say get a chewy most people prefer it... :V
You know as much I hate to say this but, the New Ford F-150's are not all that bad on gas man, And they are the most durable and safest truck out on the market with re inforced steel around the hood and doors. Premium package offers passenger side air bags as well. Best Bang for Your buck there. 2009 models and up only.
I'd get a Ford if it were up to me. I'm not that savvy in the area of autobody though. There are cars that are safer than trucks though, if safety is your number 1 concern.
I do like the looks of the F-350's, but I think a Dodge Ram would be better.
Ford trucks are quality built, you can't buy a better truck! Not to mention how amazing the new F150s look.
Well what kind of ford truck lol?
F150?
