Hey,

First of all I hope this is the right place to post this in... if not I apologize

My problem... I got a 8 GB USB that is full of files! But when I open the USB it's empty! I included a picture - Under "Computer/My Computer" you can see that the computer reads the amount available on the USB but when you click on it (bottom picture) there is nothing

What is going on (other than the USB is dieing)... is there anything I can do to extract those files onto my computer... or anything of that sort.

Perhaps the USB files are hidden... To be able to view hidden files go to the Control Panel, search for "Folder Options", and then open the Folder Options dialog. After that select the "View" tab, select "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and press OK. You should be able to view your files now if they are hidden.
Notice:The instructions are for Windows 7. Hope they are similar to your PC
They aren't hidden made sure of that
Did you check if they were "System hidden?"
It sounds like your USB drive might be corrupt. Reformatting the USB drive would be the thing to do but you also want to recover the data off of the drive.

For that I would recommend a data recovery program. I just googled this one, downloaded it, scanned it, installed it, and tested it a little bit and it looks like it could help you. [LINK]

Hope I can help, let me know how it goes.
Check folder options and se if the files are hidden.
Make sure you are showing hidden files to start. It could be a sign of a trojan using a USB spreading feature. Or maybe the USB drive just came with software like U3 on it?
Try reformatting your USB flash drive or try it on a other computer
The files might be hidden or something and you can make it come back by going to:

Tools on the removable disk folder > Show hidden files Smile

Hope it helped.
Since the hidden files method did not work, Maybe they are crypted with a 3rd party software...
