change parts of the code as well in which the columns are used.

Or if you don't want to edit anything, and want to be a bit safer you can use this bridge : http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/in...p?mod=3008 integrates SMF with Wordpress, used it before but decided to use MyBB with a portal.
