you would have to mod the plugin that you are using.
replace youtube to yt in the plugin php file.
unactivate your plugin.
upload new modded plugin to plugins dir.
activate your plugin again.
replace youtube to yt in the plugin php file.
unactivate your plugin.
upload new modded plugin to plugins dir.
activate your plugin again.

If you're using Omniscients' plugin for the youtube tags, [yt] should work fine. I always use the [yt]. I've never used [youtube].
