Couldn't you reset the iPod back to factory settings?

Iv'e got a list of downsides on why not to jailbreak and why you should:
First Downsides:
1. You get a slow idevice.
2. Very minor idevice virus infections.
3. Tons of Application crashes.
4. Low battery, possibly finish in 40 minutes if charged at 100%.
Good Things:
1. Customizable Themes
2. Cool Applications, such as Anonymous. (Email Anybody using a Fake Email that could even be taken! Like I could email you as john123@gmail.com)
3. Nice tweaks, edits and hacks for your idevice.
4. You'll have a fun time with it.
Of course you can. Thats with the restore! Great feature, gotta say.

Yes, it is. Mac Life (A magazine about all Apple products) actually encourages you to jailbreak it due to a lot more consistency.
Pros:
Themes for your iPhone/iPod
Apps that were not released in the appstore due to denial.
Mobile Terminal, this was one major reason I got it.
More Customizations, Such as wallpaper, themes, basically you can turn your iPhone/iPod into anything
If it gets messed up, such as bricked, you can just restore it and take it in, Apple won't notice a thing.
Cons:
It increases the risk of bricking by 15%. (Estimated guess due to unlikeliness.)
Apple voids the warranty IF you bring it in WHILE jailbroken.
