Ah thanks Grizzly I know its that I just have not a lot. Sometimes I do finish up homework or a design before I go game or do something entertaining but the reward isn't not so appealing
.
Find a different reward. Like booze. Or something else that you really are interested in. Maybe after finishing up homework you are allowed to have dinner. Or finishing up a design project you get to buy a new game. Something like that. I don't know you so I can't really help with what to reward yourself with. Get creative.
lol i got exactly the same problems (cept for the web design thing cuz i dont do it) I actually invented a method to deal with it but i was too lazy to test it lol .. so here it is - u can test it if u want and say if it worked so i can try it as well
How to motivate yourself!!!
Okay so I rediscovered certain principles in hypnosis and decided to share them with you - just like that, for free.
Auto-anti-hypnosis
This is basically the "don't" effect - whenever someone says to you "don't touch your hair" and he repeats it several times, there is a subliminal impulse in you to touch your hair. In most of the cases this impulse goes from the unconscious in the conscious which results in you touching your hair because its not a big deal to touch your hair - the importance of the action is not that big.
How to use the auto-anti-hypnosis for your benefit ?
lets say you have a task that is comparable to chores - you have to do it, but you don't feel like doing it - try to convince yourself that you're not supposed to do it - this is something wrong. Its called internal monologue - its like talking to yourself but not aloud. So example would be: "i really shouldn't write that essay.. but why? -because writing essays is wrong - whatever I do, I shouldn't even start writing the essay! Don't you ever start that essay - no - don't even think about it!" and so on...
its down and dirty so u can suggest improvements.. (yawn)
You may like to try taking up a hobby and I'm not speaking of something to stop you from twiddling you thumbs but actually something you will enjoy. Additionally, preferably something you will need to commit to in order to eliminate all possibilities of leaning back towards your old habits.
