I have a Motorola SURFboard SB5100 Cable Modem and need to forward port 8000. I really don't know anything about networking so could somebody point out how to do this. It's not listed on portforward.com.

Resolved. I thought I was connected directly to the modem. I'm not. I looked up the wireless router I'm hooked up to and sure enough it was on http://portforward.com. Everything is set up now.
