2. Fill up every field with detal and true informations, for easy identification by Hotmail that this is really your msn.

Whitin 1-2 days you will recive answer mail from Microsoft about next steps.

This is also known as the 'Revert Link' which some hackers use to social engineer people for there information. However it does work when needed for support reasons.

If you also want be secure, export all your contacts out of your messenger and save them to the desktop. Your contacts are then back upped so if you lose your MSN, you've not lost your contacts. You can easily Inport contacts to your new MSN.
