Full Version: Make RAID 0+1 bigger by adding bigger drives?

I have a raid0+1 for about 4x 640GB each drive which adds up to 1.2GB of actual space. I want to swap out these 4 drives and replace them with 1TB drives.

Does anyone have an idea of backing up, breaking the raid and restoring the data to the new raid with the new drives?

I would love any feedback on this, thank you!

"Breaking" the RAID would vary on the third-party software you use, if any; if you use your motherboard interface, it would be of assistance to list such motherboard here. Moreover, do you plan on creating a RAID-0 when you receive your four 1TB solid-state drives? If you do, and want to keep your current data to transfer it to the new RAID, that could most likely be done within your operating-system interface.
