When it switches over, what kind of things do you see in your Event Viewer and your Device Manager? Perhaps it's finding an error with that device which causes it to switch over. But I still need to figure out why it's switching over.

I see no change in them at all..
I'm not understanding for why your computer would want to switch over then. You don't have any HDMI devices hooked up at all? I don't have that many HDMI devices in my sound properties, but I don't use HDMI devices either, and it doesn't switch over at all. Even without disabling those HDMI devices.
Make sure speakers are set to default though for everything.
Sounds like you have some drivers missing, try downloading the latest windows updates.
Everything is set to default, the drivers are updated, and it only switched the HDMI output because that was the only other available device. If I disable all but speakers, it just says no sound devices installed.
Uninstall and reinstall your audio driver and that should fix your problem.
