Best of luck, you could try using another brand of popcorn for better results, might just be the brand your using. Or your microwave might be toast.
One trick I know of is first microwaving some water.

Going to the store in about an hour for more popcorn, going to try this first.
Buy some from the store, you can buy big bags already popped, VERY good.

Not even remotely as good as a bag of fresh popped popcorn !
The old gun brand sucks (I have burned many popcorn bags due to this old man). Anyways as for your Boxy not spinning some times its the plate.

It's built to not have a plate. It's a empty box, with a tray.
