So I've been messing around with OS X (Breaking it, basically) in a VM and I came across a 'fix' that should stop Snow-Leopard from deleting your account if someone logs in to your guest one.
First things first, this will only happen to you if you UPGRADE from snow-leopard, if you do a clean install it shouldn't happen...even if you do an upgrade it might not happen to you anyway.
The fix is just disabling and re-enabling the Guest account..I'm not saying that it's going to fix it for everyone it just worked for me (Leopard VM -> Enabled Guest Account -> Upgraded to SL).
