One of my first jobs was as a cashier at a grocery store. It was a great first job because all my friends worked there, and for late afternoon/night shifts they hired all high school and college aged kids. That was great because everyone had similar interest.
I worked in a ShopRite, but I'm sure other big chains have the same hiring procedures. Plus it's a really easy job haha.
