I'm going to get my A+ and then hopefully if I have room with my credits get my network. It looks really nice on a resume even if the job's got nothing to do with computers.

I agree with you. I'll be looking into getting as many of these certs as I can. Good luck Thomas.
When I talked to my boss I told him I wasn't certified and he said "I don't care."
But, I guess you would get paid more, and probably work in a nicer shop than I am. I mean, it's not bad at all! But I'm sure if I lived in a better location than where the "hillbillies" do, I'd make a little more dough and be in a little nicer facility. But I think it's nice as it is, so I don't mind. Nice to hear that you're all planning or have done similar things; please post your experiences here with us.
Also. All I did today was swap a screen out of a laptop and in to another one, installed Vista and updated it, cleared a Windows 98 password (I lol'ed when they brought it in...so old), and reset the 30-day activation on one of the PC's he built that are "for sale". He sets them up and lets people look at them but doesn't activate them till they buy.
Having experience also plays a huge role in the IT field. Experience and these certifications go hand in hand.
Nice I worked at a pc repair shop before, cleaning malware viruses/ upgrading components motherboards, video cards, selling/ordering parts etc, I actually enjoyed it more than other jobs.
I'm curious, how much business does a PC repair shop get on a daily basis? and what's your pay?

We have about 10-15 people come in a day with their PC or wanting to buy parts. But he also has tons of calls, and he installs security cameras and phone systems and stuff for hotels and business and homes too around the area. So it's pretty busy there. I get about $9 an hour now, but I'm not certified or anything so I'm just a "hired-helper" lol.
Good job bro, good luck to I hope you do good man!
Wow! That sound's quite a lot of fun. I'm hoping to do something like this in the future.
Seems a nice job with some nice experience I would say.
Have fun buddy
