It's almost like dating a super religious person, when you aren't religious yourself... Or dating someone of a different ethnicity even though you don't prefer that skin color or their culture is weird.
People often overestimate the power of "love". The fact of the matter is, homo sapiens are still animals and relationships are formed according to our preferences. If you go against your instincts, well... Let's just say, that a man's conscious mind vs. his subconscious, is not as easy of a battle as it might seem at first.
