This is a mybb issue with a limitation of png's the GD library.

I suggest you just make your background color #575757 to match the site. Then it will blend in perfectly.

So that's the problem he has. How come it isn't a problem for me?

I have taken a note of the colour code incase any problems occur for me in the future.
His might be a PNG8 transparent. Hard to say really..
Ah, I see. So it depends on the .png format.
His is PNG24 (24 bit)..that has transparency problems when resized. You have a PNG32 (32 bit).
So the best thing for him to do is to try and use 32 bit png's or place it on a background with the #575757 colour code.

I actually didn't think it would be as simple as that.
The same thing was happening to me. I've tried different formats and they all looked different, so I just added the BG to #575757, thanks.

Yours is also a PNG24. What graphics program do you all use? Most allow for settings of the bits during a save or export. You probably just need to adjust to PNG32. It's a slightly larger file format that's why it's better imho to just use #575757 as background. All the other themes for this site use the same trow colors so it won't effect your avatar display.
I use Photoshop but I usually just download an icon and upload it in the same format as I downloaded it.

I use Photoshop Cs4. I'm not sure how you switch it from PNG24 to PNG32 though. I can choose PNG-24 from the "Save for Web" drop down menu, but there is no PNG-32. I'd like to be enlightened if someone knows. I'll keep it with the BG color since it's a smaller size than PNG32.
