This is a four stanza poem that I just wrote in the last twenty minutes. It reflects my personal life and just about everyone else's too. (It is generic.) Perhaps it is cheesy, I don't know. I think a lot of poems are about the same things: love and regret. But whatever, here it is:

Regret

I wish things happened differently
I wish that things could change
I wish I could go back
And avert this whole estrange.

Life keeps moving forward
Despite my will to stop
Will I ever get her back?
My instincts tell me not.

Why did this all begin?
Why did I do those things?
My questions have no answers,
And yet the truth still stings.

All I have is hope
And the knowledge from before
With both of those to garner
I will not anguish anymore.

Let me know what you think!
As generic poems go, I wouldn't place your work of literature into that category. Smile
Definitely a great poem and well placed into proper stanzas. Also, very good grammar.
I hope to see more of your work soon.
Very nice. Most of us could probably relate, or at least I could.
It was a good poem bro. Keep up the good work. It would be nice to have some poems around here. Can't wait for the next one. Smile
