I'm not an expert, but it seems like the REM stage wouldn't occur if you were sleeping. That'd just be really uncomfortable. The thing with your eyes flickering rapidly is why it's called "rapid eye movement" (REM). It happens every time you sleep, but most people never experience it, because they are asleep. I don't know if you can experience it during paralysis, but perhaps yo ucan.
i also used to paralys when sleep when i was kids.
but now not anymore.
I get it frequently.
I also lucid dream from time to time, but when I get SP, I can lucid dream at the same time. Basically what I'm saying is I can force hallucination on my body while im paralyzed. But sometimes I just hallucinate about a shadowy figure. Most of the time, when I have control, I like to try to think of hot womenz Big Grin

I know of a few friends who experience it and have often had many sleepless nights. I feel sorry for them as it's out of their natural control.

If it ever happens to me, who knows what'd happen.

Me neither the worst thing I experienced in dreams is just a night mare.
I used to get it when I was 14 - 15, I always experienced a pain in my chest when I had SP, and when ever I tried to move I'd get a pulsing pain in my head, I hated SP, but I sort of kinda got used to it, but not completely, haven't had it in ages.
I've gotten it before actually, but I was young.
