I'm building a computer slowly but surely and I'm sure of everything but the compatibility of the optical drive and the motherboard, can someone check this for me?

I am not sure but you can use any optical drive with any motherboard I don't think there are any requirements!
I think that since I changed like 10 drives to friends and all and I never had a problem!

It does matter, there are SATA optical drives which aren't common (yet) then there are IDE optical drives.. which are or was common, it depends on the mobo if it supports it or not, I studied it a bit more and found out that it isn't compatible because my motherboard doesn't support it thus I have to look for a SATA optical drive.
