Index of Training Provisions

Your training is divided into three (one optional) parts. Each part will be explained in detail below, respectively.
  • Practice Logs
  • Virtual Machine Live Training (Optional)
  • Live Logs
Practice Logs

In here you will be tested with your current and future knowledge. Do note that research is vital to answering each and every Practice Log. You will find most of the answers or hints in this sub forum. Read and you will not be lost.

Getting Started
  • Please start from Practice Log 1A and work your way up.
  • To answer your Practice Log, first PM any of the professors below requesting for a Student Access Key (SAC).
  • After doing so, create a new thread in this section titled: "Practice Log (whatever number you're on) - (Username).
As an example, for me, I would title it: Practice Log 1A - Quintus.

Rules & Regulations
  • Do not bump your thread.
    • A teacher will look at it when there is time available. Though, we can guarantee that our professors will not let you wait purposely. Unless of course it is punishment.
  • You can only do one Practice Log at a time.
    • You are not machines and neither are we.
  • Do not cheat by looking at other people's Practice Logs.
    • This applies at this training facility and as well as to that of others. Cheating does nothing here - you will only be shown to be idiotic when helping a real infected user. And once we find out, you will be removed from the HJT Squad.
  • Wait for 24 hours before posting your next Practice Log.
    • After your professor has given his assessment, the thread will be locked and you have to wait for 24 hours before you do your next Practice Log, unless your professor decides against this. Do this as a cycle.
  • Do a thorough research (inside this subforum and other Internet sources) first before attempting to answer your Practice Log(s).
    • Research, aside from your personal explorations and experiences, is the greatest tool you can have. Read a lot; rest assured you will be able to pick up hints to answer your Practice Log(s) correctly.
Please work on it by yourself, as this is for your own training. If you have any questions or difficulties with the log, post it in your Practice Log thread and a teacher will kindly assist you.
Virtual Machine Live Training

Before graduation (meaning you must be an undergraduate), you will be tested with problems given to you on a Virtual Machine. This is at the discretion of your professor, should he feel the need to elevate you to our Honors Program - Virtual Machine Live training.

Live Logs

Once you complete all the Practice Logs, you will reach the undergraduate status. You will be allowed to take three real logs at a time from the HijackThis section and post. When we feel you are ready, we will promote you. Until then, you will be doing live logs. Make sure you label your live log threads as follows:

Example:

Quote:Live Log #2 - Quintus

At the same time, you will undergo our expanded private training offsite. This will ensure that you have learned everything meant to be taught through the Practice Logs and you will gain more tools to utilize that are not posted here.
