Ok so this is my current setup:

-1 Linksys WRT54G router with stock FW broadcasting a password-protected network.
-1 Linksys WRT54G router with DD-WRT FW.

What I want to do is have the second router connect to the network from the first router and broadcast it's own. How do I go about doing this?

That would be great if I wanted to only extend my first network. What I want to do is have the second router connect to the first network and then broadcast its own.

Is this possible?
You mean you want it to act as an access point but broadcast another network too? That's not possible.
I would say wood is good for stating bridges and then you can go with some other metal when you get better

All you can do is have it extend the network, other then that you can run a cord through your house to the other router and it'll broadcast its own signal.
