What firmware did iPhone 2G originally come with when it was released fresh out of its box? Does anybody know? I think its 2.0+ firmware but I am not sure. Thanks! My model number is A1203.
Any help would be nice!
Wow. iOS 1.0. Must of been a piece of crap lol.
Well of course it had 1.0. It was the first phone. 3.1.3 is the maximum.

No, 4.2.1 is the max, i have an iPod Touch with 4.0!
Mine came with 1.0 when I first got it.
it depends. 2.0+ for new ones.
but when you update it changes ofc.
How expensive were those when they came out? I know my iPhone3g came out with 2.2.1 when I bought it.
Think the max it can run is 3.x. When you get to 4.0- that's when you start running into trouble.

No, after a certain point in a products lifespan Apple discontinues software updates. I'm sure the original iPhone could support iOS 4 but they do it so people will have to buy the new products if they want the new software.
Back on the topic, the original iPhone launched with 1.0, what else? I remember 1.0, I didn't have an iPhone then but I got an iPod Touch for christmas. There wasn't even an app store, they added it in 2.0. There was no home screen wallpapers, spotlight search, and so many other small features that are in 4.0.
