Most times I join the chat is dead, people who are there are just afk.
You came at an unfortunate time. The moments I was on always had activity.
Just look at the differences in opinions about the IRC lol. Sometimes it's very active, others it's a bit quiet. Just like in real life, you can't expect every moment to be full of conversation.
