I was just chilling out at my forum playing the arcade when i thought.
Why not have one here?
I know its not really what the forum is about. But it does offer a chill out area of sorts where people can just game.
Who knows with Labrocca's skills it could get even better?
Just a thought is all.
I don't really like the idea of an arcade on any forum, especially a forum geared towards support. Just my opinion though.
Fair enough point also mate.
I have heard many a time less is more and Labrocca will prob agree to this.
Just thought i would put it out there.
If that arcade game was geared towards problem solving, puzzles and would involve thinking so we could develop decision-making and problem-solving skills, I wouldn't mind having one here. Big Grin
No offence, your idea is considerable and should be heard, but in my personal opinion, I don't think this is the sort of forum aimed at arcade games. Sure, it's just a luxury for any forums, but perhaps it's just not necessary. Personally, I don't know how often it'll be used and from what I've seen, many forum arcades are of a fairly low standard. Thanks.

Understand totally.
Here is how i look at it thought.
I will use my site as an example. Its largely a flaming forum and largely all Aussies beating up on the rest. Now that's a very specific niche obviously.
Now adding the arcade has got me members who attend daily and play to beat scores of which i would never have got or got to stay.
Sure they dont post much but they do post on occasion and therefor a win for gaining members. (they have to post to get $ to play)
Another way to look at it is like this.
We have a windows section here.
We have a linux section here.
Now its entirely possible to have a windows user who knows nothing at all about linux and also vise versa therefor rendering those forums or areas useless to them short of them wanting to learn.
Now games are more of a universal thing. A nix user or a windows user could possibly be interested in a game now and again. And may even get them to come here a bit more that they would have.
But i understand your objection and partly actually agree.
This is a forum, not a games site, go to miniclip if you want games. It just distracts people from posting.

I tend to agree with this.

I am also trying to gear this site to an older more mature crowd. Having a "Games" in the menu imho is detrimental to that mission.
Games, can be played on different sites, maybe focus on what the forum is about when your here..
I don't see a reason to distract members from the forum. It's like the shoutbox. It's just something you don't benefit from.
